This week's entry was rather exciting to create as I finally got to use my star projector, which I bought recently, and share with Bups a fascination I have had since I was a child.
Do you remember when you were a kid and traveled with your class on a school field trip to the local planetarium? For me, I remember it like it was yesterday. I was actually fortunate enough to visit on several occasions with different classes from different schools between the 3rd and 5th grades.
Despite going multiple times, I never got sick or tired of it, and I found a renewed sense of appreciation for the experience. While the home version of the star projector isn't anything like that old planetarium, it does have its own unique draw.
For example, the product I chose has audible music—well, more sounds than actual tunes, although there are two of those included. With a touch of a button on the compact remote that was provided, I could easily enhance the show in real time as it unfolded.
As soon as I turned off the lights in our living room and activated the projector, bups were mesmerized, an experience that I could relate to, and for the half hour or so we stared at the ceiling, it was an awe-inspiring magical journey. Sure, the stars are green, but given the fact that the walls are so light, this actually complements the overall show.
Of course, I had to get even more creative in order to capture bups enjoying the light show. I did not give much thought before hand to how easy or hard it might be to capture media of them in the living room full of furniture. In hindsight, I probably should have planned it better and moved things around. Instead, I plopped them on top of two containers, spinning the top one around in order to capture their reactions as needed.
Nevertheless, I accomplished what I wanted to do, and the bups did not seem to mind either way. Historically speaking, Snacky has always been the primary bup to appear animated, but during this light show, almost all of them seemed to enjoy it to some extent. Carly, Pax, Snacky, Snowy, Starry, and the two little bups, Moe Moe and Teddy in particular, were quite entertained, it seemed.
